The thing about saying yes to others is that you have to be really careful you’re not saying no to yourself. *
And this is what lies at the heart of many people’s inability to stand up to other people. Assertiveness is not the same as being aggressive. It’s not the same as always saying no. And it’s not the same as being bossy.
It’s about finding a balance that respects everyone. Once you can achieve that, the world is suddenly a very different and more positive place.
In the work environment a lack of assertiveness can be a real barrier to progressing your career and can lead to depression and becoming withdrawn.
In this half day course we concentrate on the broader communication skills needed when communicating confidently in the workplace. The session includes interactive elements designed to give delegates practical skills they can take away and use with immediate effect. It also provides some food for thought about how we manage future communication challenges.
