“Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Or, as Marx thought, you’ve wasted a business opportunity.

We’re not Marxists (anymore) so we do provide training to businesses.

As highly experienced training providers we deliver copywriting and presentation skills workshops and are the preferred presentation training provider for companies such as Cambridge University Press.

We believe it’s important to make time for learning because good training benefits everyone.

So, get in touch and let us help you catch some fish.

Copywriting Training

One-to-one or in small groups.

Give a man a crafty headline, and you have the beginnings of a brochure…

Teach a man how to constuct a crafty headline, write the body copy with an irresistible call to action and you’ve got an 8pp, gatefold, terrific marketing piece.

Plus, an exec beaming behind their desk with a smug ‘I did that’ grin on their face.

By the end of the training you will…

  • Know what makes a good copywriter
  • Understand the importance of good grammar – and know the common pitfalls
  • Be writing powerful headlines and clear body copy
  • Focus on benefits rather than features and understand true USPs
  • Know how to adapt your style according to your medium – on and off line (web, e-marketing, direct mail, advertising, PR, collateral)
  • Know how to communicate and engage with your audience
  • Create a house style sheet and tone of voice – in line with your brand
  • Be able to proof your own work – and that of your colleagues
  • Know the value of white space

Presentation Skills Training

One-to-one or in small groups.

Give a man (or woman, we’re not sexist) a presentation and s/he’ll just ask you for the notes…

Teach a man how to write his own notes, create the slides, stand, engage the audience, project his voice, deal with nerves and grab people’s attention and you… well, you may have created a monster. But one that’s very good at presentations.

And that’s what really counts.

By the end of the training you will…

  • Be better equipped to cope with nerves
  • Understand the importance of body language and how to use it effectively
  • Have a clear route to good preparation
  • Know that while practice really does make perfect you can still deliver well with short notice
  • Understand how best to structure your presentation according to your audience and subject matter
  • Know how to use PPT effectively and understand the value of other visual aids
  • Be more confident getting to know and engaging with your audience
  • Know how to deal effectively with questions – and have tools to help you with confrontational audience members (not that we’re anticipating you’ll have any, of course)
